Railmonitor today announced a strategic agreement with Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company headquartered in Albertville, Alabama, USA, marking a significant step in the company’s international growth.

Through the collaboration, Railmonitor will combine its advanced sensing and analytics technology with Progress Rail’s global reach and deep industry expertise, providing Railmonitor with a strong platform to expand across North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

The collaboration is designed to accelerate the deployment of Railmonitor’s next-generation solutions for railway monitoring and predictive maintenance, supporting infrastructure owners and operators in improving reliability, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.

At the same time, Railmonitor announced a planned leadership transition. After ten years as CEO, founder Thorvald Horup will step down from his executive role and join the company’s Board of Directors, where he will continue to contribute to product development and strategic direction. Co-founder Niels Juul has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2026.
