Railmonitor First to Meet New Safety Requirements

Published on: Nov 11, 2024

We are excited to share that one of our solutions in the TrackBed360 series is the first to be deployed under Banedanmark’s new safety requirements for underground drilling projects.

Designed for both pipe jacking monitoring and monitoring of controlled directional drilling, TrackBed360 enhances safety and track stability in these critical operations.

Why Pipe Jacking Monitoring Matters

In response to Banedanmark’s updated standards, introduced after a Danish Accident Investigation Board report on a “blow-up” incident, we created this solution to ensure safe and reliable underground operations.

TrackBed360 sets precise thresholds for alarms and uses intelligent data analysis to detect behavioral changes in track stability—even if thresholds aren’t breached.

This proactive approach allows safeguards and stakeholders to receive alerts about sudden changes, so they can act before issues escalate.

TrackBed360 and the Digital Service Platform

Before drilling begins, TrackBed360 gathers baseline data, establishing a model of the track’s natural movements. With intelligent data analysis, this information is processed and visualized on our Digital Service Platform, providing users with a clear view of stability and any significant changes.

Every 30 seconds, TrackBed360 assesses track stability, keeping safeguards and stakeholders informed in real time via SMS or email and ensuring compliance with BN1-38 standards.

See Our Solution in Action

Alongside this post, we’ve included a video showcasing how our solution is mounted and how it measures the track geometry. With a wireless, pre-configured setup, TrackBed360 jack piping and/or controlled direction drilling can be installed in under an hour, ready to provide continuous, real-time insights.
