We believe that the best solutions are created together with the end-users. A combination of technical expert knowledge and practical experience from the field creates the best products. This way we ensure that our assortment of products always fits perfectly into the specific needs of the railway industry.

Although we have a strong technical team, we have always welcomed co-creation opportunities. When we state that co-creation lies within our DNA, we mean it. Our very first monitoring solution was in fact developed together with a close client of ours who had identified a specific infrastructure monitoring need. Based on their feedback and practical experience in the railway industry, we developed a solution that is known today as our product, TrackBed360. Naturally, as time has passed, we have adjusted the solution to fit the current needs of the industry. However, this is merely an example to demonstrate what co-creation has meant (and means) to Railmonitor today.

Customized product completed in less than two months

Today we offer a wide variety of standard solutions and products. However, there have been instances in which one of our clients has had a challenge that could not be met by our standard products. In these instances, we have initiated a co-creation process with our client instead. This was recently the case with a close client of ours. The end customer sought after a product that would enable them to monitor the dynamics of a track online. More specifically, they needed to monitor how an auxiliary railway bridge is affected by trains passing by at different speeds.

At the time, we did not offer this type of monitoring product in our fixed selection. Therefore, our client asked if we could customize one of our existing solutions to fit their client’s needs. And so, a co-creation process began once again.

In close collaboration with our client, our tech team rebuilt one of our existing products, customized our software platform, and quality assured the solution. In less than two months after the initial request, the rebuilt product was in the hands of our client and ready to be installed.

Co-creation benefits all involved

We continue to welcome co-creation processes with our clients as we believe it to be beneficial for not only our clients but also for us. Our client gets a chance to be part in the making of a customized product, specified to their own exact needs. In return, we get an opportunity to retrieve even more valuable knowledge.

A successful co-creation strategy not only requires a dynamic and efficient tech team. It also requires a team that can listen to and works closely together with clients with very different needs. As co-creation has been part of our DNA for years, we have finetuned our strategy on a running basis. This enables us to juggle a fixed selection of standard solutions and products while working on other customization projects concurrently.
